Cross stream samplers are used as primary
samplers, to take a cut from a moving stream of solids, or
slurries, at a transfer point, such as a belt header or a slurry
transfer chute. Cross stream samplers can also be high probability
samplers (+95%)**. Cross stream samplers generally are timed to
take incremental cuts, "X" number of times per hour. They can
provide the volume of sample that is statistically required for
the degree of accuracy desired, by varying the cutter size and
the frequency and number of increments.
**Assumes that particle size is suitable, and material is
relatively flowable, and that adequate increments are taken in a suitable time frame. |
